Degrees & Certifications:

  • MEd Counseling, Tarleton State University
  • Education Degree, Mary Hardin Baylor

I am teaching character lessons in classrooms through the Character Strong Curriculum that our district has approved for K-5 grades. While I am a certified school counselor with a Master's degree in Education, I do not do in-depth therapy/counseling with students. I give academic counseling as well as check on a student's well being while at school. If I have any questions or concerns, I will contact a student's parent/guardian to let them know if there is something further the student may need to talk to their parent/guardian about. I also work closely with students' teachers and administrators to help the students maximize their learning potential while at school. I coordinate Red Ribbon Week activities to emphasize drug and alcohol safety and prevention in October. I also encourage students to start thinking about careers they might be interested in-- and about goal setting to reach their goals. I emphasize Good Citizenship and Manners  throughout the school year with students. I am the 504 coordinator for Intermediate as well.

Parents/Guardians, please feel free to contact me for any questions or concerns about your child.
